This in-person, eight-week NYC Level 2 class meets at the Village Community School at 272 West 10th Street in NYC. This class is for students who have completed two terms of Level 1 and are eager to learn additional craft. For most students, the weekly routine will be much like that of Level 1, but with assignments, discussion, and critiques that delve more deeply and broadly into the process of creating and sustaining a strong narrative voice, and exploring the power of creating tension between the narrator’s tone of voice and the piece’s underlying mood. Some of the eight weeks are spent revising and deepening exercises from earlier in the term.

Students who miss in-person classes due to a Covid infection are welcomed to rejoin the class after testing negative for Covid or five days after they have no symptoms. In-person classes are not recorded, so there will be no recording provided should a student miss class for any reason. Should the teacher test positive for Covid, class will either meet via Google Meet or a substitute teacher will be provided.
