Meets 6 Tuesdays 6:30-9:00 pm PT
Taught by Kathie Jacobson
Price includes all fees
This special six-week summer session welcomes returning Advanced and Master class students who are continuing and/or revising work initiated during the regular course year. Students may use the time to initiate new work based on craft class exercises. This class asks students to recognize what makes a poem or story engaging and entertaining to a reader, to deepen the sense of shape and structure whether working with prose or poetic form.
Students focus on honing and deepening constructive practices that will sustain them through their writing lives. They develop new awareness of their process and increase control over the way of telling that is best suited to bring their unique material to life. Students participate in providing critique to one another as a way of developing their capacity to apply these skills to their own work as they continue to write and develop.
Students may continue with exercises from Craft Class, or may work to complete poems, stories, or segments from a book-length manuscript.
Students take this level with permission from the teacher. For more information, please contact Kathie Jacobson at [email protected].
